| Download the latest version (AstroPlanner.dmg). It is a disk image. If it isn't automatically mounted by your browser, double-click it to mount it. Accept the licence (same as V1). Drag the application to your Applications folder, replacing the existing application if necessary. |
Download the latest version (InstallAstroPlanner.exe or InstallAstroPlanner.exe.zip). Launch the installer and follow directions to install. Unless the beta release instructions specify otherwise, it's fine to install over a previous installation. No user files will be deleted or replaced. |
| Mac OS X | Windows |
| Delete the application from your Applications folder. Go to ~/Library/Application Support and delete the AstroPlanner folder. If you so desire, go to Documents and delete the AstroPlanner folder. |
From the Start menu, choose AstroPlanner/Uninstall AstroPlanner. If you so desire, open My Documents and delete the AstroPlanner folder. |
| Note: You can run V1 and V2 of AstroPlanner concurrently without them interfering with each other. Most major files, including observation databases and plan documents will be converted for use in V2 the first time you run. This conversion is one-way - i.e. you can't convert V2 files back to V1 format. Some files (in particular, the catalogue files and DSS image cache files) are unchanged for V2 and can be shared between V1 and V2.
The first time you run V2 you'll be given the option of copying/converting various files. When you attempt to open a V1 plan document, you'll be given the chance to convert it to V2 format. |
