The beta is open to anyone who wishes to try it, with the following restrictions:

| You are not a registered user* | You will only be able to test the Version 2 application in the unregistered mode. You do not get a licence number for this. The application will nag you for one. |
| You registered on or after July 1, 2008 | You are entitled to a free upgrade to Version 2. Get your licence number info below. |
| You registered on or after October 1, 2007 | By a prior agreement made in early 2008, you are also entitled to a free upgrade to Version 2. Get your licence number info below. However, I ask that, if you are an active user of AstroPlanner, you pay the upgrade fee anyway, as a way to help support ongoing development. |
| You registered before October 1, 2007 | You will need to pay the upgrade fee in order to get a permanent V2 licence number. However, if you ask, I am happy to issue you with a licence number that will work with beta versions only. You will need to pay the upgrade fee after the application is finalised. |
