Currently, observations are associated with a session by time (i.e. if the observation falls within the start/finish times of a session then it is assumed to be in that session. This has two problems:
1. Sessions cannot overlap in time, since there could then be ambiguity with observation "ownership". This is not a problem typically, but if two or more observers are pooling observations, or if one observer is using two remote sites simultaneously, it could be an issue.
2. "No date/time" observations have to be gathered into a single session.
